چکیده
This study was conducted to compare the performance of California Mastitis Test (CMT) and Draminski Detector (DMD) for monitoring udder health in lactating buffalo. A total 647 milk samples collected from 145 apparently healthy buffalo cows during first three months lactation period were used this study. Both DMD CMT performed on-farm directly after sampling milk. The diagnostic accuracy evaluated by estimating area under Receiver-Operating Characteristic curve (AUC) based on a value 200,000 somatic cells per mL as cut-point an infected quarter detected direct microscopic cell count. Data analysis showed that 63.76% results “Trace” 99% readings greater than 300. close each other; AUC 80.1% 81.4% DMD, respectively. optimal Trace (T), 515 DMD. Detection of subclinical mastitis in dromedary camels (Camelus dromedaries) using somatic cell counts, california mastitis test and udder pathogen
A total of 120 quarter milk samples from 30 clinically healthy dromedary camel from Al-Jouf, Saudi Arabia were cultured to detect subclinical udder infection. The milk samples were screened by somatic cell count (SCC) and California mastitis test (CMT). Gram-positive cocci were the dominant recovered udder pathogen. The mean value of SCC was 125,000 cells/ mm. Infected quarter had generally hig...
متن کاملOn-farm udder health monitoring.
In this article an on-farm monitoring approach on udder health is presented. Monitoring of udder health consists of regular collection and analysis of data and of the regular evaluation of management practices. The ultimate goal is to manage critical control points in udder health management, such as hygiene, body condition, teat ends and treatments, in such a way that results (udder health par...
متن کاملAccuracy rate of mastitis on-farm test (udder check) in comparison to somatic cell count (S.C.C) in dairy herd
Mastitis in bovine is an important disease in milk herds that cause economical losses due to decrease of milk production and treatment costs. Somatic cell count (SCC) is one of traditional test in mastitis diagnosis. The aim of current study was to evaluate the accuracy of udder check (on-farm) in comparison to SCC in industrial livestock. Current study was conducted in a 100 bovine livestock, ...
متن کاملOn-Farm Mastitis Diagnosis
There are inexpensive and rapid bacteriologic tests available that allow veterinarians as well as dairy producers to make real-time decisions to better manage udder health in their herds. The commercial on-farm culture system (OFCS) that will be discussed include Petrifilm plates (3M Microbiology) and Minnesota Easy Culture System. Petrifilm plates are ready-to-use culture media that are used p...

Milk culture of suspected site samples) will identify the presence of mastitis pathogens but will the degree of inflammation associated with th...
